The lights came back on, the piano got tuned, and she was once again filled with the light of life that had marked her younger years. That fortress of imagination in the woods took on a new life and a new future.
Long before our childhood forays into the woods, the house next to our hiding place had been filled with revelry and music. As the years wore on, this house was abandoned to be haunted by the lonely echoes of the spirits that once filled its walls. It fell into disrepair and nearly got torn down but was saved at the last minute to become the new home of The Rhududu.
When we were kids we used to run, crawl, and explore through a small tunnel in the bushes to a secret hiding place. Protected under a large canopy of trees, we whispered dreams as artists dream and all that the future could hold. This was the fortress we built in our imaginations as children.
